SWISS BLUE FAQ's

Blue-light-blocking glasses work by filtering out blue light so that it doesn’t reach your eyes. Blocking blue light can help prevent tired eyes, blurred vision, disrupted sleep, and dry or irritated eyes caused by digital screens and artificial light. In addition to blue-light-blocking glasses, you can help reduce digital eye strain by blinking regularly when using your digital screens, taking frequent breaks and following the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for about 20 seconds.

Prolonged exposure to high-energy visible (HEV) blue light can lead to eye strain and blurred vision. Studies have shown that it may also damage the retinal cells which can lead to an increased risk of developing age-related macular degeneration. Macular degeneration leads to vision loss over time. The Swiss Blue® blue light glasses block blue light and provide maximum UV coverage to protect your eyes.

Yes and no. Vazeer’s Swiss Blue® lenses are blue-light blocking lenses that are designed for all-day wear and protection from blue light. Whether you’re a heavy computer user or not, Swiss Blue® can be worn like regular glasses to protect your eyes from harmful blue light emitted from any digital device, as well as artificial fluorescent and LED light exposure. Swiss Blue® lenses are not like the yellow/orange-tinted specialty computer glasses designed specifically for computer and gaming use.

You can wear virtually clear blue-light-blocking glasses all day. Harmful blue light can come from a variety of digital screens, as well as fluorescent or LED lighting and even the sun. Yellow or orange-tinted specialty glasses (such as computer or gaming glasses) may not be as comfortable to wear when performing other activities, since the tint is more noticeable.

No. Swiss Blue® lenses are made with a special blue-light blocking polymer from Mitsui Chemicals, a leading lens material manufacturer, that is directly incorporated into the lens materials. That means the blue blocker lens technology won’t chip or wear away. By absorbing blue light, this polymer prevents it from passing through the lens to your eye.

Unlike typical blue light glasses, which have a very noticeable yellow or orange tint, Swiss Blue® lenses are one of the clearest anti-blue light glasses on the market, with only a slight tint. However, some customers with a moderate to high prescription strength may notice a mild yellow tint as the lenses become noticeably thicker.

Yes. Swiss Blue® (regular and tinted) comes with a standard anti-reflective coating, and Swiss Blue® Trivex® and Swiss Blue® Transition come with a super hydrophobic anti-reflective coating.

You can order progressive Swiss Blue® blue blocker lenses but not bifocals. However, Premium Sunglasses frames cannot be ordered with progressives at this time.

Yes! Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of blue light because their eyes have not yet developed natural defenses against UV and blue light. Now that smartphones, computers, and tablets are a regular part of kids’ lives, they need blue protection more than ever. We recommend Swiss Blue® Trivex® lenses for children due to their impact-resistant properties. Trivex® is a registered trademark of PPG Industries Ohio, Inc.
